Ecology & Our Education System
Ecology is the study of the system of interdependent relationships between living and nonliving components of our home planet, of which we are one part. The healing effects of spending time in nature for both children and adults are well established. Our vision is for an education system where young minds are able to feel safe enough to express themselves, grow and blossom. Our current system values neither environmental studies nor local context and is actively cutting out lessons regarding the same. We believe that there is an urgent need to honour ecology in our pedagogical discourse.
In this section, you will find information, methods, examples, systems and more that focus on ecological learning as a process — by exploring various ways in which the understanding of ecology can be incorporated into our education spaces.
